Nestled in the serene Croatian countryside, Stara Štala offers a unique blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. My partner and I recently enjoyed our stay in a spacious, beautifully appointed room with a comfortable bed-a perfect restful retreat for those seeking solace. The shower had everything we needed, and while a kettle or fridge would have been nice, the welcoming atmosphere made us feel at home. The highlight was undoubtedly the farm-to-table dining experience. Walter and his wife's meals, featuring their own produce, showcased hearty home-made pasta and succulent roast meats. The portions were modest, and on busier wedding days, we felt somewhat sidelined, as the restaurant seemed more focused on events than hospitality. While the setting is idyllic, the absence of clear signs and occasional noise from celebrations might be a drawback for some. For eco-conscious travelers wanting a slice of the countryside, Stara Štala remains a commendable choice. Just keep expectations in check, and you'll enjoy a different side of luxury travel without the hefty price tag.
